I need to figure out how to make this stuff more time efficient. Anyways, I like to consider this the beginning of some brute force background work lol. Right now on a scale of 1 to 100 im at .5 when it comes to backgrounds… but I’m just going to keep pushing some hint of a background at least. Well, unless it’s a pure character design focus. a close friend PM’ed me and mentioned he’d like to see that. I really don’t think people understand how difficult backgrounds are. especially because it’s “paint”, it’s not linework, which means its a whole new beast. But at the same time, I do agree its important. So anyways I’m taking the step forward. Also I’m dropping my creature and anatomy sketchbooks and going to do some work into my environment sketches. Sketching anatomy and creatures paid off so hopefully the same will happen Umm, I can’t really say im “happy” with this one… because I feel like if I knew some more about things I could’ve executed it better, but hey, that’s part of the learning experience. Blaze is MY character, in case you didnt know about him Anyways, this is him when he was a kit. He was attacked by a wolf named Midnight, who left him to die. Blaze is considered mean, quiet, and sometimes rude. But he has a soft side. Most people judge him as a jerk because of his rudeness, but, if you read the story below, you may not judge him so harshly. “I feel like going in the woods..” I thought to myself. I got up and told my mom. I was a helpless kit at the time. “Silvester?Wanna come?” I asked. “No thanks. I’d rather stay here.” How lazy he was! Jeez, I could never stay inside all day. As I neared the forest, something felt uneasy. “Hmm…Its probably nothing!” I thought. So I walked up. I used to live in a place of no snow. That was years ago though. So I trekked through the woods until I was a bit tired. “Those rocks look warm! Maybe I’ll take a nap.” So I settled down and drifted off. I heard russeling in some bushes and woke up. “Wha..” I heard snickers. I look around and then it hit me . I was being attacked. A massive paw hit me in the back knocking me off the rock. Out of all the sea life centres I have been to there was one in particular that at The Deep I enjoyed more than any others which was solely down to this particular fish tank. It was around 9 feet high and 15 feet wide. It was completely overpowering but completely beautiful at the same time. This is how I want my artwork to be. This video shows the true intensity and immense size of the tank in comparison to a person. Looking up at the fish as the light filtered colourfully through the water gave me a whole different perspective.
